After graduating from music school together, trumpet player Trevor Whitridge and drummer Skye Perez formed Beat Spirit, a high energy funk band based in Vancouver, BC. Mainly playing original songs, the band combines intricate horn lines with complex rhythmic grooves to create a lively and upbeat sound. Always on the search for new sounds, songs, and ideas, Beat Spirit frequently writes fresh material and regularly performs at various festivals and events in Vancouver. Joining Trevor and Skye in the band’s lineup is Adam Kyle – Tenor Saxophone, Seb Chamney – Guitar, Jimi Fraser – Keyboard, and Karl Wallace Deering – Electric Bass.
